Travis Scott has returned to the public eye for the first time since the Astroworld disaster.
The rapper was sighted in the Palm Springs region this week, more than two weeks after the terrible events at the Houston festival, which claimed the lives of ten people and wounded hundreds more. Travis is shown on a patio with Mark Wahlberg and Cory Gamble, with palm palms in the backdrop, in a snapshot uploaded on social media.
During the holidays, Travis appeared to play golf with Michael Jordan and Mark Wahlberg. The photos and video were provided by French-American actor Sad Taghmaoui, who included a picture of him and Travis on the golf course, which has since been deleted.
Travis may have flown from Houston to California for the Thanksgiving break to spend time with Kylie Jenner and their baby Stormi. Kylie’s mother, Kris Jenner, has a home in La Quinta, near Palm Springs, where he might be staying. The couple will have their second kid early next year.
Travis has maintained a low profile and avoided social media since the November 5 disaster. “I could never fathom anything like this occurring,” he stated the next day. “I simply want to offer out prayers to those who died last night… My fans are really important to me, and I want to provide them with a great experience at all times.”
He is said to have gone out to the bereaved families and offered to pay for their funerals. “He’s extremely mindful of their desire for privacy and space as they mourn,” said Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the rapper’s spokesperson.
Travis and Live Nation are facing a slew of lawsuits, including one for $2 billion and another for $750 million.
